Welcome to Niche Ranker ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website NicheRanker.com, including our freelance marketplace, hourly livestream tools, desktop agent, and any other media form, media channel, mobile website, or mobile application related or connected thereto (collectively, the "Site"). Please read this privacy policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the site. This Privacy Policy is incorporated into our Terms and Conditions.
The Site is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect information about you in a variety of ways. The information we may collect on the Site includes:
- Personal Data: Personally identifiable information, such as your name, email address, and telephone number, that you voluntarily give to us when you use our contact forms, create an account, or purchase our services.
- Marketplace Profile Data: If you become a seller or otherwise use the freelance marketplace, we collect profile information you provide, including headline, bio, skills, languages, location, category, avatar, and optional intro video (for example a Loom or YouTube URL).
- Marketplace Activity: Gig titles, descriptions, tags, images, packages, and sample deliveries; job postings; bid proposals (cover letters, amounts, delivery estimates, attachments, and optional video); reviews and seller responses; order details; delivery notes and files; and revision requests.
- Messages: Content of conversations and attachments you send to other users or to us through marketplace messaging and order threads.
- Hourly Livestream Monitoring Data: If you use hourly livestream contracts, we collect live screen share (display video and, where captured, system audio), periodic still screenshots, shift recordings, mouse and keyboard event counts (not key contents), session metadata (start/end times, heartbeat, truncated device/user-agent string, agent version, session identifiers), buyer watch-session timestamps, timesheet and billing aggregates (billable/idle seconds, rates, fee snapshots, invoice identifiers), and idle-return elections. See Section 8 below.
- Payout Data: Information needed to pay sellers, such as PayPal, Wise, or USDC (ERC-20) payout details you submit.
- Google User Data: When you connect your Google account to our services, we access and collect your Google email address and Google Search Console data (including website properties, search analytics, and performance metrics) through Google OAuth 2.0. This data is accessed with your explicit consent and is used solely to provide our SEO reporting and analytics services. See Section 10 below for detailed information about our use of Google user data.
- Derivative Data: Information our servers automatically collect when you access the Site, such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, and the pages you have viewed.
- Financial Data: Financial information related to your payment method (e.g., credit card details) when you make a purchase. All financial information is stored and processed by our third-party payment processors.
- Data From Contact Forms and Audits: Information you provide when you fill out our contact forms or request a free SEO audit, which may include your name, email, website URL, and any other information you choose to provide.
2. How We Use Your Information
Having accurate information about you permits us to provide you with a smooth, efficient, and customized experience. Specifically, we may use information collected about you to:
- Create and manage your account.
- Fulfill and manage purchases, orders, payments, fees, and seller payouts.
- Operate the freelance marketplace, including matching buyers and sellers, displaying gigs, jobs, and profiles, and processing bids and reviews.
- Enable messaging, deliveries, revisions, and order records between buyers and sellers.
- Operate hourly livestream contracts, including live viewing, timesheets, stills, recordings, idle detection, invoicing, and payout credits.
- Verify billed time, prevent fraud, and review disputes using stills, recordings, activity intervals, and messages.
- Moderate listings, messages, and other user content, and enforce our Terms.
- Provide you with our SEO and link-building services.
- Sync and display your Google Search Console data to provide SEO reporting and analytics services.
- Send you newsletters, order notifications, and other promotional or transactional information.
- Respond to your inquiries and offer support.
- Analyze usage and trends to improve our Site.
- Prevent fraudulent transactions and protect against criminal activity.
3. Disclosure of Your Information
We may share information we have collected about you in certain situations:
- By Law or to Protect Rights: If we believe the release of information is necessary to respond to legal process, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of others.
- Third-Party Service Providers: We may share your information with third parties that perform services for us, including payment processing (such as Stripe and PayPal), payout processors (such as Wise), hosting and database providers (such as Supabase), live video relay and object storage (such as Cloudflare Realtime and Cloudflare R2), email delivery, data analysis, and marketing assistance. We do not share your Google user data with third parties except as necessary to provide our services (e.g., hosting providers) or as required by law.
- Other Marketplace Users: If you use the marketplace as a buyer or seller, other parties to a conversation, gig, job, bid, or order can see information reasonably needed for that transaction. That may include your name or display name, profile details, messages and attachments, order and delivery information, and public reviews. On an hourly contract, the buyer and seller on that order can see timesheets and stills; the buyer can watch the live stream and stored shift recordings. When you publish a seller profile, gig, or review, that content may be visible to other users and to the public. Niche Ranker does not control what other users do with information you share with them, and we are not responsible for their use of that information.
- Business Transfers: Your information may be transferred in connection with a merger, sale of assets, or acquisition of our business.
- Google User Data: We do not sell, rent, or share your Google user data with third parties for their marketing purposes. We only use Google user data as described in Section 10 below.
4. Security of Your Information
We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information. While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the information you provide, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable.
5. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data; to opt out of marketing; and, where applicable under laws such as the CCPA or GDPR, to request a copy of your data, to object to or restrict certain processing, or to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise these rights, contact us at info@nicheranker.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. You can also opt out of future marketing communications by using unsubscribe links or contacting us.
Marketplace messages, reviews, order records, timesheets, activity intervals, billing invoices, stills, and recordings may be retained as needed to operate the Site, bill and pay for hourly work, resolve issues, prevent fraud, and meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations even after you delete public profile content. Media retention defaults are described in Section 8. Timesheet, interval, and billing records are not automatically purged.
6. Cookies and Analytics
We and our service providers may use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to operate the Site, keep you signed in, remember preferences, measure traffic, and improve performance. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may limit some features of the Site.
7. Third-Party Websites
The Site may contain links to third-party websites, including payout providers and video hosts you choose to link (such as YouTube or Loom). Any information you provide to these third parties is not covered by this Privacy Policy.
8. Hourly Livestream, Screen Monitoring, and Recordings
Hourly livestream contracts use screen sharing and activity tracking to bill time and to let the buyer verify work. This section describes that monitoring. Our Terms and Conditions (especially Section 12) govern billing, unpaid invoices, and freelancer agreement. This Privacy Policy governs the data.
8.1 What is captured and what is not
During a tracked hourly shift we may process:
- Live screen share: The display (and, where enabled, system or app audio) the seller chooses to share via the browser or desktop agent. Microphone audio is not requested by design.
- Stills: JPEG frames captured from the live stream during billed active time, at the interval in the hire terms (currently 2, 5, or 10 minutes, or off; default 10 minutes).
- Shift recordings: Continuous video of each tracked (non-manual) shift from start to stop, while storage is configured, uploaded to object storage.
- Activity counts: Counts of mouse and keyboard events used to mark time as active or idle (idle currently after 10 minutes with no input). We do not store typed characters, clipboard contents, camera video, or browsing history as such.
- Session and billing metadata: Shift start/end, heartbeats, device label (a truncated user-agent string), agent version, session identifiers, watch-session times, and timesheet/invoice aggregates.
Anything visible or audible on the shared display can appear in the live stream, stills, or recordings. That may include incidental personal data (documents, notifications, other people, account names). Sellers are responsible for what they share.
8.2 Who can access it
- Buyer on that order: live stream, stills, shift recordings, and timesheets.
- Seller on that order: stills and timesheets. The seller publishes the live stream but does not get a buyer-side live viewer or stored-recording download.
- Niche Ranker: platform operators may access monitoring and billing records as needed to operate the Site, bill and pay, prevent fraud, enforce the Terms, and comply with law.
8.3 Retention
- Live WebRTC stream: Relayed in real time and not archived as a full live dump.
- Stills: Default retention is ninety (90) days, after which we delete stored stills. We may change this period in platform settings.
- Recordings: Default retention is thirty (30) days, after which we delete stored recordings. We may change this period in platform settings.
- Timesheets, activity intervals, sessions, and billing records: No automatic purge. We retain them as needed to invoice, credit payouts, handle chargebacks, prevent fraud, and meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
Signed download links for stills and recordings expire on a short timer (on the order of minutes to an hour). Expiration of a link does not delete the underlying file until retention cleanup runs.
8.4 Consent and control
The seller consents to this monitoring for a contract by accepting hire terms (including any required checkbox) and by starting a shift, which also requires an operating-system or browser screen-share prompt. The buyer consents by hiring on hourly terms and choosing a screenshot interval. Continuing a shift after an idle-return prompt is further consent to activity tracking for billing.
The seller can stop sharing or end the shift at any time. Tracked hourly work cannot start, and generally cannot continue as billable, without screen share when the contract requires it. The buyer can set the screenshot interval, including off. Turning stills off does not necessarily disable live viewing or shift recordings; recordings may still run for billed tracked shifts when storage is configured.
8.5 Processors
Hourly monitoring and billing may be processed by Stripe (invoices and cards), Supabase (database, stills storage, realtime signals), Cloudflare Realtime (live WebRTC relay), Cloudflare R2 (recording files), and STUN/ICE providers used to establish the live connection.
9. Privacy Policy Accessibility
This Privacy Policy is prominently displayed and easily accessible to all users:
- This Privacy Policy is linked in the footer of every page on our website (NicheRanker.com)
- The Privacy Policy link is clearly labeled and visible on our homepage and throughout our website
- This Privacy Policy is hosted on our verified domain (NicheRanker.com) which we own and control
